Piece work payments

Payments for work completed at piece work rates are specifically defined as wages. This form of payment is mainly paid to out-workers or itinerant workers. The payment is linked to each item but should not be confused with a 'result' based payment.

If the relationship between the business and the worker is ongoing and the total amount paid is not fixed the relationship is one of casual employment.
