Regulating gaming in clubs and hotels
The NSW Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing is responsible for the overall administration and regulation of gaming in clubs and hotels.
The Liquor Administration Board (LAB) has numerous ancillary powers relating to the operation of gaming machines and general control over licensed premises and registered clubs.
The Licensing Court of NSW has statewide jurisdiction and deals specifically with applications and other issues under the Liquor Act, Registered Clubs Act, and Gaming Machines Act. For example, new hotel licences, licence transfers, breaches, complaints and disciplinary proceedings against licensees.
