What's new
Two new exemption types have been added to the 'Land Owned' section of the form:
Intended Principal Place of Residence: other (applies for two years from the time when building work commences).
Intended Principal Place of Residence: vacant land (applies for two years from the date of acquisition of the land).
Land tax registration (initial return)
Please read the following information and ensure that you have all the details required to complete your registration.
When you are ready to begin, select the 'continue' button at the bottom of the screen. The Land Tax Registration form will open in a new browser window - OSR recommends that you maximise this window to clearly view all details required.
Information required
You will need the following information to complete this form
the date you purchased the property
the date when you first occupied your principal place of residence (if applicable), and
the date you ceased occupation (if applicable), and the information specified in either a. or b. below
a) Your Deposited Plan Number or Strata Plan Number AND your Lot Number. This information can be found on:
local council rate notice
Land and Property Information (LPI) Notice of Valuation
Sydney Water (or local Waterboard) statement
OR
b) Your Property Identification Number. This information can be found on your Land and Property Information (LPI) Notice of Valuation
Additional information
If you are registering land owned by a company, trust or deceased estate, you will need additional information:
Deceased estates
date property was purchased
date of death
date of probate.
Trusts
type of trust (fixed, discretionary, etc)
number of units held (optional).
Note: this information is contained in the Trust document.
Companies
ABN number
the name and ABN number of all related companies.
