2009 State budget
The NSW Treasurer, The Hon. Eric Roozendaal, announced a number of initiatives to further stimulate the NSW housing sector as part of the 2009 Budget.
These initiatives together with other changes were introduced under State Revenue Legislation Amendment Bill 2009.
These changes include:
- NSW Housing Construction Acceleration Plan
Introducing from 1 July 2009, housing stimulus to people outside the first home buyer market, by cutting duty by 50 per cent for people buying newly constructed properties with a value not exceeding $600,000.
- New Home Buyers Supplement
Extending the $3000 first home buyers supplement for newly constructed homes until 30 June 2010.
- Duty on Registration of Caravans and Camper Trailers
Exempting from duty the registration of a caravan or camper trailer effective from 1 July 2009.
