State Revenue and other Legislation Amendment (Budget) Act 2007
Amends the following Acts:
Duties Act 1997
brings forward the abolition date for mortgage duty from 1 January 2011 to 1 July 2009
provides an exemption from mortgage duty for mortgages that secure loans made for the purpose of owner occupied housing, effective 1 September 2007
provides an exemption from mortgage duty for mortgages secure loans made for the purposes of investment housing, effective from 1 July 2008.
Land Tax Act 1956
reduces tax rate from 1.7 to 1.6 per cent from the 2008 tax year.
