Executive

Tony Newbury, (B Com ASA)

Executive Director and Chief Commissioner of State Revenue

  • coordinates responses to ministerial enquiries and correspondence

  • manages corporate governance activities including internal audits and reviews

  • undertakes business process improvement reviews

  • monitors the efficiency and effectiveness of our processes and manages the maintenance of our ISO 9001 certification.

Technical and Advisory Services

Anthony Johnston (BA, LLM)

Technical and Advisory Services Director and Commissioner of State Revenue

  • provides advice to the Treasurer, Minister for Finance and Services, government and formulates policy, legislation and State tax revenue rulings

  • processes objections and prepares cases on appeal

  • provides technical advice and training to OSR staff

  • issues private rulings and conducts education programs for external clients.

Operations

Peter Steele (B Eng, M Eng Sc, FAICD)

Chief Operating Officer

  • provides tax assessing and revenue collection, delivers client enquiry and education services at regional and metropolitan locations

  • administers first home benefits and unclaimed money payments

  • researches, develops and implements programs to encourage better compliance

  • detects non-compliance and underpayments through audit and investigation

  • enforces lodgement of returns from defaulting taxpayers.

Fines Management

Mick Mioduszewski (B App Sc (Comp Sc), MBA, FAICD)

Fines Management Director

  • provides fines processing services to government, semi-government and local government agencies for fines owed to the government and commercial clients

  • processes penalty notices for all red light and speed camera-detected offences as part of the government’s road safety programs

  • advises the Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) of all demerit point offences to update driver records.

Management Services

Dianne Barden (B Sc (Hons))

Management Services Director

  • provides financial and revenue accounting services

  • guides corporate planning and provides information analysis

  • delivers human resources services

  • provides governance for projects, programs and portfolios

  • provides business communications

  • coordinates and manages contracts and procurement, records, facilities and business continuity.

Information Services

Angela Donohoe (B Comm, CPA, FFIN, MAICD)

Chief Information Officer

  • provides management of information communication and technology (ICT) systems, including computing infrastructure, information storage and networks

  • maintains, develops and supports reliable, effective and responsive computer facilities and applications

  • provides strategic technology advice and direction to enable business capabilities

  • contributes to DFS ICT strategic planning and service delivery.

State Debt Recovery

Mark White

Chief Recovery Officer

  • contributes to NSW's economic performance by effectively resolving government debt

  • manages all overdue tax and fines debt

  • undertakes community outreach activities and supports vulnerable clients to resolve their debts

  • administers the Work and Development Order (WDO) scheme.
